Now is the perfect time to start your transition into the healthcare field!  If you are looking for a new venture, the new year is a great opportunity to start fresh.

According the Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare careers as a whole is projected to grow 19 percent from 2014 to 2024.  Part of the reason why careers are expected to increase is because of the aging population of the baby boomers, and the fact that with the federal health insurance, more people are expected to have health insurance.

Whether you decide to get your Associate of Science degree or your Bachelor of Science degree, by the time you graduate, you will still be within the range where jobs are set to increase.  There are also many careers within the healthcare field with opportunity for advancement.

  • As a Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurse, the average salary in 2014 was $42,500.
  • As a Medical Assistant, the average salary in 2014 was $29,900.
  • As a Physician Assistant, the average salary in 2014 was $95,800.
  • As a Registered Nurse, the average salary in 2014 was $66,640.
