Earning Your Diploma From HCI

HCI's Diploma Programs

As Health Career Institute continues to expand, so do the courses that are available to prospective students.  At this point in time, Health Career Institute offers two diploma programs: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Basic and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Paramedic.  The principle goal for an EMT is to administer basic emergency medical attention and transportation for patients in need.

Programs such as Health Career Institute’s diploma programs, will prepare a future EMT to determine a patient’s condition and handle different emergencies such as cardiac, respiratory and trauma.

HCI’s EMT – Basic Diploma

As an EMT-Basic, you will take courses to prepare you to determine a patient’s condition and handle cardiac, trauma and respiratory emergencies. Some other supporting skills you will gain in this diploma EMT-Basic program at HCI is immobilizing fractures, childbirth assistance, poison and burn victims, and bandaging wounds.

HCI’s EMT – Paramedic Diploma

Becoming a paramedic is the most advanced level for Emergency Medical Technicians. Courses in Paramedic training are more rigorous and in depth than coursework for EMT-Basic.  The EMT – Paramedic program at HCI prepares students to operate in a prehospital setting at a higher level than those at the EMT-Basic level.  As an EMT-Paramedic, you can expect to learn about advanced first aid, cardiac monitoring, and train on-site in emergency rooms and ambulances.

The mission at Heath Career Institute is to provide “education to students preparing them for a career and/or advancement in Allied Health.”  If you are interested in learning more about these diploma programs, please visit HCI’s Diploma Programs page.
