Health Career Institute now offers a hybrid Fire Science program. Learn about our new option and how it can help you to advance your career in the fire service. You can earn a credential that qualifies you for leadership positions within the fire service.
Our hybrid fire science programs are mostly completed online. The last course in the series is a blended course, which means that part of the course is completed on campus. You have the flexibility to learn online.
Hybrid Fire Officer I and II tracks
The two tracks each have four required courses.
The Fire Officer I track features these four courses: Company Officer and Leadership, Building Construction for Fire Protection, Fire Fighting Tactics & Strategy I, and Fire Service Course Delivery (Blended). By the end of the program, you can become certified as a Fire Officer I.
The courses required for the Fire Officer II track include these four courses: Fire Prevention Practices, Private Fire Protection Systems 1, Fire Fighting Tactics & Strategy II, and Fire Service Course Design (Blended). You can work toward your career as a Fire Officer II with distance learning.
The information you learn in the hybrid fire science program will give you a better understanding of fires, firefighting tactics, and fire prevention. In-depth knowledge prepares you for certification and for working in the field in a fire officer capacity.
A flexible learning option
The hybrid Fire Science program offered at HCI allows you to work toward certification as a Fire Officer I or II while you work. Advance your career in the fire service with the flexibility of online learning. The on-campus portions give you an opportunity to apply that knowledge in person.
According to Gallup, blended learning can greatly benefit students. The key is for students to make the most of their learning experience. Instructors are available to answer questions. Study the materials and review lectures in order to learn the material.
