Earn your AS in EMS Online

When you work in Emergency Medical Services, you have a busy schedule. Paramedics work a variety of hours that make it hard to finish their college education.

That’s why HCI College offers the AS in EMS completely online. You can earn your AS in EMS 100% online with HCI College.

What is the AS in EMS?

HCI College offers an AS in EMS to Emergency Medical Services professionals who want to advance their careers. The associate of science degree in Emergency Medical Services rounds out your Paramedic training and certification so that you have a college degree. While you don’t need a college degree to work in EMS, degrees may open doors for you in other ways. Employers may value college degrees.

The AS in EMS at HCI College is 60 college credits. The first portion of the program is EMT and Paramedic training. Prospective students who want to get an AS in EMS, but who have not become certified as a Paramedic, are encouraged to begin with the EMT-Paramedic programs at HCI College. The college credits from those programs count toward the AS in EMS degree.

Offerd 100% Online

Because we know that Paramedics are busy people, we designed the AS in EMS to work with hectic schedules. Online courses are accessed from any computer. All you need is a good internet connection. The lectures and assignments are available in the online course. Some assignments may have strict due dates, but you can work at your own leisure. There is no set, predetermined class time. You can work on your classes late at night, early in the morning, on lunch breaks, or on weekends as time allows.

Once you have been certified as a Paramedic, the last 15 credits of the program are general education courses. Every professional career uses math and communication skills. General education courses round out your practical training as a Paramedic, as well. Leadership skills are built on the ability to communicate, and good math skills are vital for Paramedics who handle medications. These courses are available completely online.
