Jonathan Summer
Jonathan Summer, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, currently works as a Liberal Arts Math Instructor at HCI College. With over six years of experience in teaching, he finds immense satisfaction in his profession, particularly in witnessing his students’ learning journey.
Having pursued his undergraduate studies at The University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a BS in Mathematics in 2001, Jonathan felt compelled to further his education. Subsequently, he pursued his Master’s degree at The University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), completing it in Mathematics in the spring of 2005. Throughout his academic journey, the most challenging aspect was completing his thesis, which demanded extensive time and attention to detail.
Upon completing his Master’s, Jonathan embarked on a Ph.D. program in Mathematics at UNLV in the fall of 2005. However, during that time, he applied for and secured a teaching position in Pittsburgh, leading him to transition back to his hometown.
Since the fall of 2006, Jonathan has been dedicated to teaching full-time in Pittsburgh, a decision he remains content with to this day. Outside of work, he finds joy in his marriage to his spouse and the adventures of parenting his eleven-year-old son, Connor. In his leisure time, Jonathan indulges in exercise and reading.
