Lesslie Cruz, MSN, RN
Lesslie Cruz graduated with her Associate in Nursing in 2015 and commenced her career on a Medical Surgical unit. While working as a nurse, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Phoenix, achieving top honors in her class. Her true calling revealed itself on the Labor and Delivery Unit, where she discovered immense joy in aiding women during childbirth, prioritizing their comfort in such an emotional and sensitive time. Among her notable experiences was delivering her brother and sister-in-law’s child.
Guided by the nursing school mantra, “They may not remember your name, but they will remember how you made them feel,” she carried this ethos throughout her career. Driven to share her experiences and knowledge, she embraced mentoring new nurses, particularly enjoying the role of guiding nursing students on the Labor and Delivery unit. This passion led her to pursue a Masters in Nursing Education, aspiring to become an instructor.
After accumulating valuable experience as a clinical instructor, she found her way to HCI College, where she now serves as a full-time instructor for the Nursing III and Capstone courses. Her genuine affection for students who exhibit eagerness to learn has made the experience truly fulfilling.
Currently on the verge of graduating in December 2023 with her second master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she balances the demands of her professional life with cherished moments spent with her husband and three daughters. During life’s occasional chaos, she remains profoundly blessed and grateful.
