We all have busy schedules these days, and sometimes it is just not conducive to your schedule to go to campus for classes. Because of this, Health Career Institute offers distance learning for general education courses to ease your schedule.
Prerequisites For Distance Learning At Health Career Institute
In order to be considered eligible for HCI’s distance learning courses you will need access to the following:
- A Pentium I or faster PC or Apple Computer
- A CD-ROM drive (Most courses will not use CD-ROMs)
- Any Internet Service Provider (ISP) such as AOL or MSN and others
- A 56K modem
- A printer
- Word Processing Software such as MS Word
- An email account of your own
- Email software such as OutLook, OutLook Express, or Hotmail
Distance Learning Courses Offered At Health Career Institute
You will have the option of completing the following courses online:
- English Composition I
- English Composition II
- Liberal Arts Mathematics
- General Psychology
- Introduction to Sociology
- Microcomputer Applications
- History of the USA: A Survey up to 1870
Objectives Of Distance Learning At Health Career Institute
When you are taking the distance learning general education courses you can expect the following:
- Master basic skills in English, Mathematics, Social Science and The Humanities
- Communicate accurately and effectively in both verbal and written form
- Gain and apply critical thinking skills in order to analyze complex material
In order to be considered for passing, you will need to maintain a C average or better.
Each of these courses is 3 credits.
