From Paramedic to AS in EMS with HCI College

Paramedic AS EMS

Are you a Paramedic who wants to earn a college degree in your field? You can go from Paramedic to AS in EMS with HCI College! We offer convenient class options, including online courses, for Paramedics to finish their college degrees.

Emergency Medical Services professionals with college degrees can advance their careers in the healthcare career fields.

Getting Your Degree

Your Paramedic education and training counts toward the AS in EMS. That means that you are already part of the way there. HCI College’s Paramedic program is 45 college credits. The remaining 15 college credits needed for the associate of science in Emergency Medical Services degree are general education courses. As a Paramedic, you are already more than halfway toward completing your college degree!

The general education courses that you need to finish the degree cover the “soft skills” that are important for all professionals. Paramedics use math on a regular basis when they administer IVs or medications. Good communication skills are important as well. As a Paramedic, you lead other Paramedics and EMTs in the field and talk to patients. The psychology course will help you to understand how people think and communicate. History classes provide a solid foundation for understanding the past as it relates to the present.

Fitting In Your Classes

You won’t have to rearrange your schedule to take these courses, either. HCI College offers online classes that you can complete anywhere! Take your classes in your pajamas on your days off from work or check in on your lunch breaks. The choice will be yours. Just make sure to turn in any assignments on time and study like you would for an on-campus class.

Flexible class options make it easy for busy Paramedics to get their AS in EMS degrees from HCI College. Our online courses are on a par with our on-campus classes, so you won’t be left behind. You will be able to contact your instructor through the online class portal, as well. The convenience of online classes means that you can learn when you have time to learn. You won’t have to leave your job as a Paramedic to finish your degree.
